Arnold 14 movie times2/14/2024 ![]() I think where this film doesn't always succeed is when it tries to bite off more than it can chew. Schwarzenegger is great at all the action, and handles enough of the heavy and heady material to get by. Being that it's an action film, Quaid is pretty much on the run the rest of the movie, and chaos inevitably ensues. However, it becomes increasingly clear that his life that he thought he had, is no longer in reach. Douglas Quaid, played by Schwarzenegger, decided to take on the mission to gain his life back. Naturally, a lot of people choose other planets, including the habitable planet of Mars. It takes place in 2084 where it's possible to take a "virtual vacation" to wherever you want. ![]() Total Recall is about a man caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that may just alter his life on earth for good, or should I say his life on Mars. Even when the films themselves aren't always the best, I've always found Dick's ideas to be fascinating. Dick short story, which is why it's no surprise this film tries to tackle a whole lot of interesting science fiction proposals. Luckily, most of the time everything comes together nicely. But this time, it's handled with intelligent ideas and thought provoking themes. Much like a lot of Arnold Schwarzenegger's films, Total Recall is action packed, boasts great special effects, and one-liners. But something goes wrong during the procedure Quaid discovers that his entire life is actually a false memory and that the people who implanted it in his head now want him dead.ĭolby SR, Surround, Magnetic Stereo 6 Track, Stereo He visits "Rekall," a company that plants false memories into people's brains, in order to experience the thrill of Mars without having to travel there.
